As Tektronix products evolved, the circuits were frequently modified to include improvements for performance and sometimes safety and economy. Each of these modifications was carefully documented in a "Modification Summary" which is unique to each model of instrument.

Sometimes these circuit changes can be installed in earlier instruments to improve them. In the regular Service Manual Parts List, you will see parts changes and instrument serial numbers where these changes occurred. This helps you service the instrument by telling you what values the original parts were but it does not really help you to install the modifications in an earlier instrument. For example, there is nothing in Tektronix Service Manuals that will explain what purpose the part value change was intended to accomplish nor will it tell you if there are OTHER parts that must be changed at the same time to install the entire modification.

The Modification Summary takes the guess work out of this process by telling you the purpose for each change, the serial number where that change took place, recommendations for installing (or NOT installing) this change in earlier instruments, a parts list for this modification, and sometimes a step by step procedure for actually installing it. Some extensive modifications were done using modification kits supplied by Tektronix and all of these kit instructions are also included in the Modification Summary for the instrument.

Like instrument manuals, the Modification Summary evolved as the instrument evolved and the last version written is the only complete version. This 570 Modification Summary is the last known version and therefore, the most complete 570 modification history available to you. The "Modification Summary Index" page is dated September 1978.

Normally, Tektronix only supplied this information in microfiche form. We converted each microfiche image to hard copy and then printed and bound copies of those hard copies for you. You are buying a 71 page document.

Manuals with blue Covers are generally later versions of manuals with Green covers. This is an authorized copy and is comb bound, like the original manuals. All of the pages are there as well as the front and back cover. The fold out schematics have been reduced to fit an 8 1/2 by 11 page. There is reference to Serial Number 5360 so this manual should be good to at least that number.
