Here's the Wizard in his home territory - the 454 vertical amplifier.
The 454 was quite a big leap in performance over the 453 from which it was derived.
To get 150 MHz vertical bandwidth, someone suggested that magic was required - thus the wizard.
He appeared in the parts list too, but unfortunately if you burned out your wizard you were out of luck,
as he was unreplaceable.
There was a bit of magic in the 454 vertical amp.
Just ask anyone who ever calibrated one!
