The Pacific Electric Railway in Southern California       Union Tool Company       Source: Los Angeles Public Library Photography Collection     In this picture we are looking Northeast. Here is another large industry in the Torrance area, that I believe was Union Tool Company. The Pacific Electric Torrance line is visible cutting across the upper left corner, and again starting at the middle left and going diagonally down to the lower right. The track serving the Columbia Steel mill is also visible making a backwards 'S' curve at the upper left (almost touching the largest building in the photo).
